I met Michael two and a half years ago when he was the best man at Jeff and Jennifer’s wedding – he was sitting in the back room of the reception hall during dinner hour, looking a bit stressed and staring at his laptop. I assumed that he had some crazy, urgent work to take care of, and I was right…kinda. He was actually still polishing up his speech, as he was Jeff’s best man and the clock was ticking down toward toast time. Turns out he did a great job, with a little help from his laptop. 2 + years later, Jeff, as Michael’s best man, got to return the favor.
Michelle and Michael’s wedding spanned the greater Houston metro area – their ceremony took place at St. Theresa’s in Sugar Land, then we all headed downtown to grab some colorful photos at Discovery Green, then onward to the 43rd floor of the Exxon Mobil building to be greeted by awesome downtown views from The Petroleum Club. I’d never visited Discovery Green prior to Saturday, but now it’s on my favorites list – interestingly enough, it wasn’t even in our original plans, but sometimes the best laid wedding-day plans get shifted, and in this case, we ended up striking gold! Well, thanks in no small part to a groomsman equipped with a Lincoln Navigator with just enough space to scoop up Michael, Michelle, myself and my gear and speed us across downtown just in the nick of time.

Signing off, from the 43rd floor...
