Yes, I admit it, I am INCREDIBLY late blogging these images. You see, I was beginning my blog switchover right afterward, and then I went to visit my friend Amy in NYC and photograph the strange-but-true closing of parts of Times Square, and then I came back and still hadn’t finished switching over…and all of a sudden a month had passed. Well, that’s the mentality of summer in Austin for ya…
The first annual Austin Fashion Week culminated in the fabulous Austin Fashion Awards, and I ended up with a great piece of prime red-carpet real estate. After an hour and a half of photographing a smorgasbord of local notables and a few out-of town special guests (and fighting off heatstroke – it’s a bad sign when the words coming out of your mouth start to seem like they’re not your own – thanks for the water Alison!) we headed inside to grab some shots of the runway and awards presentation. Afterwards, it was off to the after-party, this time solely as a guest, where we ate 8 servings of sushi and a random young lady meowed at me and proceeded to claw my arm. Ummm, ok. Thanks to Launch 787 and Wyatt Brand, among many, many others, for making year one such a success! Next year I’ll be sure to drink plenty of water.
